The greatest coach in the history of rugby league, and tied for greatest coach of any sport of all time along with Bill Belichick and Red Auerbach, Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett has organised the most efficient tour of Britain in the history of the sport.
With the NRL All-Star game taking up his time this week until this morning, the Clint Eastwood of Rugby League will hop on a plane Saturday morning Aussie time, and arrive in the UK Saturday night.
The Broncos take on Wigan at whatever Dave Whelan Is Calling It Now Stadium on Saturday night – but the Broncos are training in London this week to see all the people dressed in black, and due to dietary concerns, will only arrive in Wigan 2 hours before the game – and will be gone before the post match pies are served.
They’re also only bringing 18 players, placing a lot of trust in Qantas’ airline food – but figuring worst case, they’ll just give it a whirl with 15 if a few get crook.
Inexplicably, the Broncos are 4.5 point underdogs against Wigan.
